Terre d’Hermès is a metaphor for materials, a matrix that speaks of territory as well as matter, earth, and roots. This vertically structured scent is based on an alchemy of wood, the scent first introduces the gaity of orange, the bitterness of grapefruit and the vivacity of pepper and of fresh spices. This “vegetality” flirts with the mineral effect of flint and the coarseness of vetiver. Dominated by cedar, the fragrance goes deeper with the sweetness of resins and the impalpable voluptuousness of benzoin.Description courtesy of Fragrantica. https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Herm-s/Terre-d-Hermes-17.html
Terre D’Hermes is an extraordinary fragrance of woods, vetiver, pepper, and mosses. It is universally loved and while it tends toward the masculine, it is quite unisex.
This is my take on the wonderful fragrance. It does use a few restricted ingredients (not restricted when the fragrance was first created) but generally it is straightforward and easy to produce and replacements are suggested where necessary.
I have chosen the raw materials very carefully to give the fragrance a particularly edgy nuance, as it was to be given to a friend as a gift. You can feel free to make substitutions. The best example is my use of wild orange oil which is rich, powerful, and raw and far more full of character than plain orange oil.

Utterly magnificent. Transcendent. A rare scent that stirs the soul. I will never be without this. In fact, my entire fragrance hobby is a fun pastime to sample different things, see what else is out there, but it’s no “fragrance journey” like some like to say. I have found the while whale and it is Terre D’Hermes. I could wear it every day, all year round, to any occasion. The continued pursuit of anything past Terre is just pure frivolity.—Ryanxcore
I’m a woman, but I’ve fallen in love with this smell. It makes me feel like I’m in the middle of an orange Grove in Southern France. When I sprayed Fragrance The first smell is the old orange and Mixed orange leaves And I feel the simplicity every time love it 10/10.—kitty9
They’ve distilled Autumn into a liquid and poured it into a bottle. Then they labelled it, Terre d’Hermès.
Love, love, love it, especially in the Fall.—olfactoryfan
