Modelled on a well-known gardenia perfume, this fragrance is a burst of sweet fruity luscious gardenia (in the Tiaré vein) and white florals that lasts and lasts thanks to a wonderful combination of luxurious musks and naturals. There are no extremely rare materials here (at least nothing that is not relatively easy to come by). This is a real "wow" fragrance that will have people begging you for bottles. It is sultry, delicate, modern, refined, and rich. Top Notes Rosewood,...

Mmm very tempting … Just bought your Enigma formula.
But this seems very interesting.. “people begging for bottles” haha…it must be great!
You won’t regret making it 🙂
Hi Jamie – this isn’t working for me – I’m logged in here and on Patreon but no matter how many times I refresh, I don’t seem to get it to open the Patreon part of the post.
Now it works!
I have logged out, refreshed, cleared cookies…still cannot access.
Got it now. It seems Patreon has a lengthy process.
Jamie, where do you source ingredient #19? PA no longer has it…
I have the same question, but I found an expensive 44 euro’s p/ml alternative at Hermitage oils. According to the reviews it should be great and a little goes a long way! I think this is probably worth it to buy but it could get pricey when you’re living outside Europe. I couldn’t find it at Eden Botanicals.
I get mine from Vigon (it is a Firmenich product) but as Guido has said, Hermitage has it and Hermitage is pretty awesome IMHO.
Thank you Jamie and Guido, I will reach out to my contact at Vigon as I work with them regularly – it does not appear to be on site. Otherwise, thanks for the Hermitage information.
I’m not sure if you are talking about one and the same material, although I have to admit that I don’t know the actual formula. But I reckon, that material #19 is Tiare absolute (Gardenia tahitensis), which should not be confused with Gardenia absolute (Gardenia jasminoides). Firmenich produced a genuine Tiare absolute a few years ago, but they most likely discontinued production. (They even produced two sorts of it, one was decolorized, the other not.) I know all these materials and can only say that G. tahitensis (Tiare) and G. jasminoides (Gardenia) have quite different scent profiles. To name only… Read more »
You are totally correct – thanks! The fragrance is using the G. Tahitensis from Firmenich (I use the normal dark colored form).
Hi Jamie, Vigon is not remembering it at the moment – do you happen to know the CAS # – I pulled these from Goodscents – T. A. Firmenich 987737 and 987738 – might these be the CAS? Thanks!
Yes it appears that vigon no longer sells it! This is the CAS 683748-01-8. If you substitute gardenia it won’t hurt.
thanks Jamie
ohhhhh exciting a new formular 🙂 is there a way to sent out a mail when something is new? 🙂 thx janosch
Take a look at your spam folder – I get emails when I publish a new formula – I presumed it was the default behaviour . . .
I also can’t unlock after paying. I don’t know where the problem is. Any help please? thank you
ok. I solved. 🙂
Initial impression a few hours after mixing: Gorgeous! just as Jamie mentions: sultry, delicate, modern, refined, and rich. After macerating it’ll probably smells divine…, honestly: smells divine already!
For a more tropical vibe I have added a trace of Frangipani white abs 10% (0,5) to match Tiaré a little bit more because I’ve used Gardenia abs. from Hermitage oils.
Nice substituition!
Exaltenone – I don’t have this musk and have never smelled it. Is it close to any others I could substitute?
Exaltolide would be an okay replacer.
