Chypre by Coty is one of the most important works of fragrance art in history. It inspired thousands of new fragrances and continues to do so today, and it was a nod, in its own time, to the long-lost scent of powdered wigs and the drawing rooms of the European Gentry of the 17th and 18th centuries.
This formula is based on actual knowledge of the original including tweaks made by François Coty to perfect it in the few years following its initial launch. The download contains a number of substitute formulas for bases that are used and provides monographs on the most famous historic bases from the golden age of perfumery.
No formula or information exists on the internet right now that can take you this close to the fragrance that changed the history of scent forever.

I’ll be dead if someday you make Mitsouko and Kouros 😍😍😍
Hah I’ll keep it in mind 🙂
Same for me, and that means the vintage version of course! that’ll be awesome..
Vintage always!
Jamie, there is no mistake with a dose of vanillin? I’ve never tasted Coty Chypre.
Nope – no error – lots of vanillin.
Thanks Jamie!
Tomorrow is the Big Day! I am going to blend this beauty with all the bases needed for this vintage masterpiece.
Can’t wait to smell this one soon!
I can’t wait to hear what your think. It’s certainly a perfume from another time!
It certainly is, I wasn’t blown away immediately at first sniff but after a while it smelled much better probably due to the opening notes… How long do you let it rest before diluting it? It’ll probably smell much better after macerating.
After approximately 48 hours of evaluation, I must say that this is absolutely brilliant, it very much has that vintage vibe, classic perfumery at its best!
Imagine how great this smells after a couple of months!
